Team chat

Direct messages between teammates on your workspace. Internal only: customers never see these threads.

Get started

  1. Open the Team folder

    Go to Messages → Team, or find team threads mixed into your main inbox at Messages.

  2. Start a DM

    Click Message teammate and pick someone on your roster. You can only message people on your workspace: not yourself.

Daily use

  • Send and receive: same thread UI as customer SMS and form submissions.
  • Read/unread: mark threads unread to come back to them later.
  • Trash: move a thread to trash, restore it, or delete permanently. You cannot reply while a thread is in trash.
  • Notifications: push alerts on iOS and optional email when a teammate messages you.

Who can use it

Any teammate on your workspace (owners, admins, and members) can send and receive team DMs. See Team permissions for how roles differ.

Good to know Team chat is not a group channel: it is 1:1 only. For the best mobile experience, use the Pathline iOS app.
